Topic: Thoughts on The Mortgage & Housing Crisis
Readers, I'd like to see what you all think about the housing crisis. Is the government doing the right thing by bailing out investors in an effort to save/stimulate the economy?

I am in Buffalo
where I bought my house two years ago. The housing market here has experienced very slow price escalation through the last several decades, and completely missed the run-up in prices during the last decade. The other side of that coin is that the market continues to plod along with low single digit price escalation, and sales continue at roughly the same (albeit uninspiring) rate now as during the past several years. In today's environment, that is stellar performance.
As they say, all real estate is local, and depends on location......
Glad to see the new government aid ...
... isn't for speculators. It's for the people who wanted to live in their investment. I'm not a democrat but this is one they're doing right.
